Application Fee Information

  • The application fee is $80 for U.S. citizens and lawful U.S. permanent residents, and $100 for all international applicants.
  • Payment may be made by MasterCard or Visa credit card OR by check or money order.
  • If paying by check or money order, please follow these directions carefully:
    • Print out the Application Fee Form, which will appear on your screen after you press SUBMIT on your online application.
    • Attach the form to the check or money order made out to “UC Regents” and mail to the address indicated on the form.
    • International Applicants: Note that the UCI Cashier’s Office only accepts international money orders or international bank drafts in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank, payable to "UC Regents."
    • International drafts must have the U.S. bank’s name, address and complete AB routing numbers imprinted on the draft.
  • Fee Waivers are available to qualified domestic applicants only. Eligibility to apply for a fee waiver is determined by completion of the Personal History section of the application and is part of the application process. If, based on information provided in the Personal History section an applicant is eligible to apply for a waiver, instructions will be presented on the Payment page of the application. Please note that waivers are not automatically granted.
    • Documentation required for approving a fee waiver request must be received by the Graduate Division no later than 7 days after submission of a graduate application for admission or by February 15 (whichever comes first) of the same calendar year. Please note that if the program to which you are applying has an earlier deadline, your fee waiver documentation must be received and approved prior to the individual program’s deadline. Applicants requesting a fee waiver who do not meet this deadline will be required to pay their application fee via check.
    • International applicants are not eligible for application fee waivers.
