- Fulbright Grants
The Fulbright program for U.S. students is coordinated by UCI's Graduate Division and the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York. The purpose is to provide U.S. students with the opportunity for academic development and international experience.
- Fulbright-Hays Fellowships
The Fulbright-Hays program is a separate and distinct program from the Fulbright Grant listed above. The Fulbright-Hays program is administered by the U.S. Department of Education, and its purpose is to provide support opportunities for graduate students to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies in specific priority geographical areas. Students interested in this program should refer to the Department of Education web site at http://www.ed.gov/ for specific information on eligibility and submitting a proposal.
For comments on your grant and fellowship proposals, please contact Beth Riley at briley@uci.edu.
Your proposal should be prepared in the electronic format available through the Department of Education Web site. However, students must also print a hard copy and bring it to the Graduate Division. The U.S. Dept. of Education requires a few of the proposal forms to be signed by UCI's designated Official and sent to the U.S. Dept of Education via Federal Express.
The UCI internal deadline is Friday, November 6, 2009.
