NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP)
Introduction
The National Science Foundation (NSF) offers fellowships to students in their early stages of pursuing a research based Master's or Ph.D. degree. The Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) offers our nation's research leaders of tomorrow exceptional funding with 3 years of graduate support worth thousands of dollars.
Award Amounts
GRFP Fellows Receive the Following:
- $30,000 annual stipend
- $10,500 cost-of-education allowance
- $1,000 one time international travel allowance
- TeraGrid Supercomputer access
Workshops
The UCI Graduate Division this fall is hosting a series of workshops for those interested in the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program. All workshops in this series will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m.; most of them will be held in the GRC, unless otherwise noted. The GRC is located in Room C114 of the UC Irvine Student Center (Level 1, next to NACS@UCI). Click here for a map and directions from Ring Road. Eligibility Criteria
- Are a US citizen, US national or permanent resident alien; and
- Are a graduating senior, or have completed a B.A./B.S. degree, or are in the first year or the first semester of the second year in graduate school; and
- Are pursuing a research-based master's or doctoral degree in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields supported by NSF.

- Integrate research and education

- On June 3, 2009 the UCI Graduate Dean, Frances Leslie mailed letters of invitation to over 250 new and current UCI graduate students who appear to meet basic academic and discipline elegibility criteria.
