UCI’s Graduate Division recently participated in the Southern California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education, an event that brought together over 1,000 pre-selected high achieving undergraduate and master’s students.  The 22nd Forum took place on the campus of San Diego State University on Saturday, April 14th.

A recruiter fair was held that gave universities from across the country an opportunity to share information on graduate programs with prospective students.  Workshops for students were held throughout the day in classrooms that surrounded the recruiter fair area.  According to Raslyn Rendon,  Graduate Division’s Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Retention, “The Southern California Forum is a great way to meet potential graduate students and it is an incredible opportunity for those students thinking about grad school to explore graduate opportunities and resources by participating in workshops and meeting with recruiters from the various UC campuses.”

UCI will play host to the 2013 Southern California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education.

The California Forums for Diversity in Graduate Education, planned by a consortium of public and private colleges and universities from throughout California, have been designed particularly to meet the needs of advanced undergraduates and master's candidates who belong to groups that are currently underrepresented in doctoral-level programs.
