Document Receipt & Admissions Decision

Confirmation of receipt of test scores and letters of recommendation

If you wish to confirm that your file is complete, after allowing UCI at least 30 days following submission of your application and all supporting documents, write directly to the academic unit that is considering your application.

You may check online to determine whether the following application items have been received by the Graduate Division Office:

Make certain that your name and ID number appears on all official documents submitted and that your full legal name, address, and the graduate program to which you are applying appear legibly on all correspondence with the Office of Graduate Studies and the academic unit.

Notification of Admissions Decision

Admission notification is a two-step process. You will receive 1) a letter from the academic unit 2) an e-mail notification from the Graduate Division. You must receive both notifications to be officially admitted to UC Irvine.

Deferral

If you cannot enroll for the quarter to which you were admitted, please contact your academic departmentto request a deferral. If the department approves the deferral, the department must notify the Graduate Division in writing by the second week of the quarter for which you are admitted. The deferral can be for a maximum of one year.
