Orientations
The Graduate Division coordinates orientation sessions for all graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
Campuswide New Graduate Student Orientation
Held before the start of fall quarter, the Campuswide New Graduate Student Orientation provides incoming graduate students with information designed to help navigate graduate studies at UC Irvine. This event will cover common aspects of the UC Irvine graduate student experience, including sessions on graduate support services (like programs offered through the Graduate Resource Center, as well as important administrative topics (like health insurance). The Campuswide New Graduate Student Orientation also helps new students establish a diverse peer support network by providing the opportunity to connect with fellow grad students from other disciplines across campus.
New International Graduate Student Orientation
The New International Graduate Student Orientation provides an introduction to the specialized services and resources available to international students at UC Irvine. This event introduces new international students to campus and academic department leaders and to other new students.
Postdoctoral Scholar Orientation
If you are a new postdoctoral scholar, be sure to attend a Postdoctoral Scholar Orientation, given several times each year. We’ve developed Checklists for both incoming Domestic and International postdocs to help with the transition to Irvine. Remember, the International Center serves as the primary point of contact for all international postdoctoral scholars.
